Plant Packer Instructions

Note: The Plant Packer was designed to transport live, newly-rooted plants in rooting cubes (ie. rockwool, peat moss, etc). It is recommended, but not necessary, to use a soil of your choice to accommodate the remaining space in the lower portion of the unit and allow the plant a medium to root into while inside the Plant Packer. Spare dividers are included for custom modifications.

  1. Lay the Plant Packer down on it’s back and open it like a book, with the short sides at the top and bottom.

  2. Place enough lightly moistened soil down into the bottom three root chambers of the Plant Packer to supplement the space that will be surrounding your rooting plug. Ensure you lay down enough soil to raise the stalk of your cutting to the height of the groove in the divider. (Usually about 1/4-3/4”).

  3. Remove your rooted cutting from it’s propagation tray and carefully place it in one of the three plant chambers. Ensure the stalk of the plant sits comfortably in the groove of the bottom divider. Also, make sure the rooting plug is pushed upward against the divider so soil is unlikely to escape the root chamber. Note: if your cuttings are taller than the foliage chamber, you may remove the top divider intended to protect your plant from the light breaking loose.

  4. Backfill the remaining open space in the root chamber with more soil.

  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 two more times to fill the Plant Packer.

  6. Toggle the switches on the three LED lights. These lights have been tested to remain bright enough to encourage photosynthesis for at least 5 days.

  7. Close the Plant Packer, making sure the clips are firmly clasped. Note: If mailing the Plant Packer, it’s always a good idea to add packaging tape to the clasps but be sure not to cover the ventilation holes.
